Easy HP and choke
 

What are the easiest mods one can perform on a ryobi 31 to get more power? Something one can do with your basic shop tools. Also does anyone have an easy choke set up, the carb I got does not have a choke. Thanks!

To put a 11mm venturi carb and to open up the muffler are the usual things. My Ryobi has enough room behind the carb to slide your finger in there to choke it for starting.

I just told my brother to use a small rubber ball, cut in half and glued to a popsicle stick for a choke on his Ryobi. (Saw a picture of it here in the forum one time.)

if you have the case back off, check the clearance between the reed valve and the limiter/stop, if it is not 1/8" take the limiter off and 'tweak' it till an 1/8" allen just slips in the space between reed and stop.
