I got this engine from Scott Ellingson two years ago and just getting around to putting it on a plane. Ill be installing it on a GP giant stick. My question is what kind of motor mount should I use? If anyone out there is flying this engine how do you like it?

RE: 38cc McCulloch
What engine are you talking about Dave.
Do you have a picture? A discription? A lot of conversions are mounted with a flat plate bolted to the fire wall. Some have stand offs, or spacers. We need more info, there are several 38cc macs out there. |
RE: 38cc McCulloch
Ralf: I see a photo in post #1. Maybe your computor is blocking the photo. I clicked on it for full size and the photo got a little smaller????? Dave... Bolt engine direct to firewall if you can. Or in a manor to save weight. Good Luck Capt,n

It's there now, thanks Dave
The best thing to do is ask Scott. [email protected] The picture is a little small for me to see, even at 300% enlarged. |
RE: 38cc McCulloch
Dave you'll need a beam type engine mount like the one that Dubro's sells with vibration dampers or the one like H9 sells for 1/4 scale planes.
Use the aluminum kind I think that the plastic ones may break with the torke these engines develop. |

Dave
I had this very engine installed on a GP Giant Big Stick and Scott told me to use the largest metal Du-Bro mount. I belive it is the one for 120 4 stoke engines. They are a little expensive, but will worth it. Makes the installation just like a glow engine and the shock absorbing is a nice feature. Take a look at the pic. I had trouble getting mine started and Scott took it back and I upgraded to a 42cc w/ei I plan on using on the giant big stick. You will need a starter that spins this engine at least 1000rpm to get it started, but once it is started you'll love the power it has. Thanks |
RE: 38cc McCulloch
