Please help, Glow conversions basics?
Hi,
I am thinking about converting a small 21.2cc gas engine to glow. I see that you can buy or make a plug converter, but othe than that, does the cuurent Walbro type carb work without any mods? I understand it would have to be adjusted, but would the rubber inside not be attacked? This and any other information would be appreciated. Thanks, flyrc |
RE: Please help, Glow conversions basics?
Have you considered the GGL gas/glow mix?
From what I gathered, the rubber doesnt get abused from the 1/3 glow alcohol... there is just enough methalol to get the plug to catalyst up.... but the other guys have better info than me. |
RE: Please help, Glow conversions basics?
Do not worry about the alky with the walbro carb. Not going to bother mutch with 2/3 gas in mix. Capt,n

Thats a good point, what exaclty DO you mix for a former Gas engine to run right as a glow? I guess less oil, and some gasoline is still used?
