RE: Echo 2400T Short blocks

Nice work Av8tor. That is exactly what I tried to explain in earlier posts here. As they say; A picture is worth a thousand words. One of these days my new house and shop will be done and I can get everything set again and get back to the conversion thing.

RE: Echo 2400T Short blocks

Thanks. Yeah, I've been trying to leave my airplanes and engines alone while I play "Mr. Mom" for a bit, and also paint my race boat and build a nice rail type dune buggy. I started having withdrawal syptoms though, so I worked on this project for a while the other day. I'm also anxious to get started on that BME twin 23.6cc engine. I will now go from the left hand thread fix to prepping this crank for the twin; or at least work on it a little at a time.... (add sound of my 1 year old daughter crying for my attention here.... )

Take care,
AV8TOR

Nice work. Did you start the tap with it chucked in the chuck attached to your tailstock to get a good alighnment? How far past the key-way did you thread? Thanks Capt,n P. S. Nice photos!!!

Hi,

Yeah, you have to be careful getting the tap aligned properly, especially with that keyway there, but I had no problems. It is tapped about 1.25" past the keyway.

You're welcome,
AV8TOR

A friend of mine really wants one of those BME 23.6cc twins we've been working on. Anyone have two of the 23.6cc engines they would care to sell cheap??

Thanks,
AV8TOR

Hmmm, I bought two from another gentleman here in the forum (you know who you are and thank you again) for about 250% less than that. Did I do something to make you angry?

RE: Echo 2400T Short blocks

AV8TOR: No..nothing like that at all....just gota make some on this stuff to help towards new Lathe and Mill and more & more tooling. Thats 2 brand new engines. One alone list price is over $150 at the cheapest price I could find. Its a matter of supply and demand. When the good prices are all gone.....up goes the price on whats left. Best Regards, Capt,n

I have an echo 2400, and would like to know how I can get a flywheel. Where can I find the specs to make one, if I were to?

Go to repair shops...you may find a good used one quite cheap or a complete dead engine with a flywheel for a very low price. Try the small shops also. Capt,n

I guess I am talking about a prop hub. How do I mill a prop hub, (dimensions)?
This is all new to me, what other things are required for the modification. (I have the complete weed eater engine)
