Cloud Dancer 120
Anyone put a Ryobi 31cc in a 120 Cloud Dancer?

RE: Cloud Dancer 120
Just finishing up one myself, going to put a 120 Saito in it. Think a Ryobi might be a bit heavy for it, maybe an echo or Weedeater Feather lite? Sure has a lot of wing area if you build it with the long wing. Put flaps on mine so I could land it, my CD 40 would float forever.
If you try it, let me know if it works, I have a Ryobi on the shelf waiting to go in something. Steve |

Yeah my CD 40 will float forever..
The 120 plans say 1230sq. in. with the short wing. I have 3 gas motors I can convert. 18cc (I think it's a featherlite) 23cc Koritz 31cc Ryobi Here's the info on the CD120 plans. http://www.rcmmagazine.com/store/sto...jtSZ94ieI6T2I7 CLOUD DANCER 120 Our Price $18.50 by Fred Reese, 86" or 98" span, 1230 or 1350 sq. in., .90-1.8, 4-5 ch., built-up balsa and plywood, two sheets 34-3/4" x 69-1/4", 34-3/4" x 51-1/4", Issue: RCM 1-96, |
RE: Cloud Dancer 120
I just saw the plans and I would put the Ryobi, it has ample wing area!!!!
I bet it will perform super with it. |
RE: Cloud Dancer 120
Looked at my CD 120 and compared the Ryobi, looked a bit big, seemed like the Echo would be more suited, but the rear mounted carb of the Ryobi would make a cleaner installation. Believe the Kioritz is the same thing as Zenoha. If you use the Ryobi consider moving the servos to the tail.

RE: Cloud Dancer 120
The Toro 25 is lighter and more powerful than the Ryobi.
At least that is what Scott Ellington says. |
RE: Cloud Dancer 120
Thanks for the input..
I'll go ahead and order the plans. Then we'll see what motor will fit best and what mods need to be made. |
