Hard engine to start! Need help

I have a 38 cc poulan converted. It has a mag on it with the points ignition. It is very hard to start. I dont want to by CH ignition. I have a newer engine that doesn't have points. Would this be easier to start? Any sugestions?[&o]

I didn't read far enough back on the ebgine conversion threads. I need to get a high toruqe starter.[sm=spinnyeyes.gif]

If you go to your local small engine repair shop the will have a device that eleminates your points.

This will allow more spark at a lower RPM and should cost $25.00 or less.
I would start there.

Sullivan makes a 12 or 24 volt Heavy Duty starter, I have one.
You will need 2 Garden Tractor batterys to power it correctly, about $20.00 each
Plus about $50.00 for the started new.

There are used ones out there.
