Velocity Stack
Hi Darin,
In a previous Poulan thread you said: "I found mine a little sweet spot that was very dificult to find with the needles but I put a velocity stack on it and it is all perfect now no burble at any rpm just as smooth as a glow engine." I assume this photo shows the velocity stack you are referring to? http://www.rcuniverse.com/attachment...&postid=841104 Is this something you buy or make? If you bought it, where? If you made it, would you be willing to share some details? Materials, how you constructed it, dimensions, etc. Thanks!!! Gene |
Velocity Stack
My LHS carries them, but I bought my last three from Dick Bennett at B&B Specialties. They call them "Power Rams".

I like the Power Rams from Dick Bennet, too. They have the largest diameter of all the velocity stacks I have. Some of my other ones can't clear the integral butterfly choke valves on some Walbro carbs. The Power Rams are also the least expensive I've found.
I've found that some of my side-mounted carb engines likes to spit fuel out the carb, and the VS really helps with that and gives a smoother transition. |

Thanks Lynn & Volfy.

Did your RPM's increase with the velocity stack?
|
Velocity Stack
Velocity stacks don't usually gain more RPM, Just suck the fuel, air mix back in that would be blown out and wasted. usually makes it run a little richer so you have to lean it out.

Velocity Stack
no improvement in idle and top rrm just nice smooth transition at any rpm

Hey Guys:
I have a velocity stack on my poulan 46 that has an angle cut on the end that extends out of the cowl. I was wanting to know which way to face the angle? Front or back????? I have it facing the front now and it works OK, but would it work better with the angle to the rear? |
Velocity Stack
most use them as you are to the front

You can buy them from Tower Hobbies. They are usually around the US engines or the Fuji's.
Carr Precision also sells them. Enjoy, Jim |
