Supertiger 3000

I have been using a ST300 converted to EI and gas for a couple of years. Overall the performance on a "big ol bipe" has been more than adequate. However the life of the small 1/4 X 32 plugs at $15 a pop is less than adequate.

Has anyone tried to tap the head on the large tigers for a 10mm or 14mm plug?

Plugs

10mm is a snap. All you need is a new plug cap and you must use 2 gaskets on the spark plug.
This will pay for its self about the time you don't buy a second 1/4x32 plug

tkg,

Would you happen to know the brand and model number of a 10mm plug?

Thanks

Have you priced a liner, piston and ring for a 3250 at tower hobbies?
Scarry.

RE: Supertiger 3000

First conversion was to EI. Got a syncrospark and walboro carb adaptor from CH. Didn't like the 1/4" Plug so I tapped the head for 10mm. After a few flights the plug blew out of the head and had to make a brass insert in the head for the plug. Later tapped out the insert to 14mm and tried it on gas/glow. Performance was about the same as on gas. Fuel mix was 10% klotz technoplate and rest 87 oct gasoline.

I have a magnum 1800 which I run with Gas/Glow fuel made with 1/3 of 10/10 glow fuel an 2/3 gasoline with extra oil to bring it up to about 8-10 %, some where I read that big supertigre engines can run safely with 6% oil that the extra oil is not needed in fact the big size bushings make the job very well, also morgan fuels makes a blend for super tigre engines that contains only 6% oil.
The engine runs excellent, very good transition, the carb I use is a walbro 9 mm ventury I havent tach it, right now don't have a tach but I love the way it runs.
