The nipple thats next to the screws plug with a piece of tubing and a screw.Thats the return line, just use it if your going to run a primer bulb.Anything else it stays plugged.I use echo 2-stroke power blend at 50:1 with 89 octane gas.

Thanks Buck, I plugged it up.

I know I said I wouldn't do it [:@], but temptation got the best of me this afternoon, and while I had the engine on the stand I made and mounted to my Craftsman Workmate I decided to see if I could start it.
I could hand flip it until gas poured out the exhaust port and it would not start. I tried my plane starter and it is not strong enough to turn the engine over.
So I took the starter drive off, adapted it to my variable speed Craftsman drill and started to turn it over slowly gradually speeding up. I got a couple of burbles and some puffs out the exhaust.
Finally it sprang to life and after some minor adjustments to the carb needles it is running pretty good.
When it is hot I can start it by hand. I don't have a tach so I can't tell what the idle and full speed rpm's are.
I do know that at full throttle it will pull my Craftsman Workmate portable bench across the garage floor. I took the engine off the test stand and back downstairs so I won't be tempted again .
The prop hub should be here this week.........................

ORIGINAL: Bratpak

I put some fuel in the tank and tried to prime the carb( I won't start it until I get the proper propeller hub).
I was having no luck priming until I plugged the tube that is next to the adjustment needles. Then it primed right away.
What is that tube for and will it need to stay plugged all the time??

Mark

Glad to see your getting this done on the low side (cheap)
Good luck.
