RE: CDI
ORIGINAL: gkamysz I read somewhere on here, that there may be a couple different knock-off units though. |
RE: CDI
I know the service I get from Bill and Terry at CH is second to none and that is what keeps me going back. I know there are other great folks out there to deal with but they have treated me great so I will spend a few extra coins to keep from getting burned by some knockoff that doesn't work as good as the original. Just my two cents, your mileage may vary.[8D]

RE: CDI
I agree with the good service from CH and there are quite a few places that have good service on a varity of products. What I cannot grasp is the difference in the amount of $$$ for the SAME PRODUCT! First place $25 2nd place $28 3rd place $33 forth place $75 Last place $85. Now it seems like the places that charge the most is right here in the USA, and shipping would be less. Hey, anyone can buy 25-50 of the same units for about $20 or less in quanity and sell them. Sooner or later everyone will go with the lower price on same product. Several years ago, I said there will be cheap..but good CD ignition units from China. Its common sense! A small electircal product does not take that much $$ to produce in the first place. I can see keeping the prices higher if CH or any place wants too, on there premium ignition...but give us a break on the China made unit. Yea...I probably will get smoked fot that! Capt,n

RE: CDI
With the CD Ignition units I was talking about it seems like if seller has a unit go bad (maybe 2 or 3 out of say 30)...they are replaced free to him when he orders next batch. So he may be out only what it costs to ship a new replacemnt unit to buyer. In a lot of cases the person who bought a CD unit that went bad would be glad to pay the shipping to recieve a new one. Thats my opinion..."but everyone has one" Capt,n[X(]

How many businesses have operated? There are real costs of doing business. 10-20% margin doesn't even pay a decent wage for your time.

RE: CDI
I didn't realize that the guys who produce ignitions do it as a favor to the hobby. Many pose themselves as full service companies for the products they sell. When they fall short of customers expectations they get treated like major corporations here on the boards, not some guy running out of time or resources for his hobby. I must be mistaken. I've worked in the industry for 5 years full time. I had my own hobby business ten years ago. It didn't seem like a hobby to me?
