Ryobi Fuel line question
 

Hi All, I have a Ryobi engine but when I got the engine the fuel lines were not there. The top inlet is plastic and the bottom one is a smaller brass tube. Which one is for the fuel line ? I take it the other line was for the primer bulb ? Also which size of fule line would be best for the Ryobi ?

The nipple that is by the carb adjustment screws (opposite side of the cylinder - I would call it the bottom) is for the primer hookup. If you decide not to use the primer (I didn't - works great!) - simply plug it off. The fuel inlet is the other nipple (on the top - by the cylinder) - that's the one you want. I used 1/8" I.D. fuel line for mine - just make sure that the tubing is for gasoline!!! You probably should also use some sort of a retainer on the fuel line - (like zipties, or maybe even safety wire) - to keep them from inadvertantly coming off at the wrong time

Thanks Kraut for the info. I bought a 18x6 prop today. Now all I need is some fuel line and I will try running the engine on the bench.

I just thought of another question. What do I do with the fuel tank vent being I do not hook it to the muffler ? Also what gas to oil ratio mix should I use with the Ryobi ? Should I use a certain octain gas ?

most people recommend the lowest grade gas (cheap stuff).
i think i used 32:1 that was marked on the bottle of oil for my mixture.

the vent line should just vent to the outside air. its basically so you dont get a vaccum in the tank and crush it by the carb pressure. ive seen these little walbros squish a tank flat..haha. on my engines i curve it up a little to keep fuel from siphoning out and then curve back to the bottom of the plane to exit.
