Planning ahead is important

I guess I should have test fit the cardboard template a little more carefully!

RE: Planning ahead is important
Are you referring to the angle of the plate as mounted to the engine? Nothing a few washers between the plate and the engine won't take care of, or if you mount it inverted (cylinder down), you will have built in "down thrust".

All this is really unnecssary. I wanted to remove the "bell housing" and see how it looks. Well I got it all mocked up, see below. If I get amitionus I will blast all the parts before I put it together with sealant. BTW this the the other 20cc Stihl I picked up.

Looks good. Looks more like a "real" model airplane gasoline engine as they look today, though I would have just left the bell housing on it, mounted it up and flown it...
Nice work. AV8TOR |

Ooops... I kind of wondered about that, but couldn't be sure from the pic. Is there room to grind the intake adapter?? The mounting plate?
What I noticed, and thought you were talking about is that the upper and lower crankcase bolts appear to be on a different "plane". Whoops, sorry for the pun... AV8TOR |
