Default New and looking for help in Phx. az.

I'm having problem with Big Lama Heli. For no reason months ago I lost control with with my heli. I was going to show a friend the heli, and found that I had no control of the throttle or rudder lever. The right control for pitch and banking worked. Had it just sitting on coffee table. I noticed the I could not get the green light for good, so I thought one of my controls went bad. Now I purchased new 3 in 1 controller and 6 channel receiver (w/o crystal) and replaced both. Now I get solid orange on receiver for about 3 seconds, then goes dark, and flash orange on 3 in 1, and green ok light never comes. Nothing works or responds. I noticed that I had lost the little antenna of the old reciever, but I'm not sure if that really would make any difference with the transmitter 12 inches away. Anyone have any other Ideas on what I may try. Really would like to fly.

Sounds like a bad reciever. Is it 2.4 or 72?
