Have just gotten a HBK2 with the E-sky controller included. Have read the instructions booklet but it didn't give me much info. I've had a E-sky lama before so the 4 channel controller from e-sky is no problem to use. But the 6-channel one which I got with the HBK2 has got some extra switches one it. One at the top left corner and one at the top right one. And one more at the top left side of the controller which has the text "gyro.sw". And I wonder what these switches are for. Can anyone here help me?

the one at the top left corner you dont want to touch just yet.. it will boost the power up by 75% or more with out even having the throttle up.. this is only when you are VERY VERY GOOD and ready to do 3d flying such as inverted flight.. always make sure this switch is in the up position before pluging in your heli to the battey or you will be soory..

the one on the top right side is sorta of a safety switch.. the blades will not spin if the switch is down.. put this switch down when you have the battery in the heli and are doing adjustments such as straightening the blades or just plain messing with the heli.. put it in the up position when you are ready to fly..

the other switch doesnt do anything.. it is for extra stuff such as landing gear or lights [[i think]] im pretty sure it doesnt do anything right now.. jake.

Just to clarify, the top left switch is for "idle up" mode where the throttle curve is 100 (top), 60-70 (mid) and 100 (bottom) while the corresponding pitch curve is +9, 0, -9.

The top right switch is a "trainer" switch, you can connect another transmitter to yours via a trainer cable and have a more experienced person on the other tx. when you hold down the trainer switch the second tx takes control of the heli.

The gyro switch changes a the mode on a head holding gyro from head holding mode to rate mode, it can be used for other things like landing gear or lights as stated by jake.

Good info guys, i have a big important question, cant find the full setup for controller at either twf.com or radds school..
the stock controller has the 4 switches at the right bottom..mine outa the box is setup like this
ail=norm, ele=rev, thr=norm, rud=rev is this the correct setup, I have started up heli to check blade lineup, and it willl spin up and sit perfect with blades in line perfect, feels balanced and ready for flight..I have the gyro switch forward, top front switch forward, hov.pit at 10:00 am
pit trim=0..throttle all the way down and the rest in neutral..is this correct, Its windy today I just installed the training kit and ready to hover, I will go back and watch subzero to see if I missed anything..When I powered up the heli it felt really smooth, everything is stock..I just dont want to do anything stupid with controller setup..please guys post up and if someone has a pic of the simple flying first flight switch position ..thanks james..Ps I'm itchen to try this king bee II out....my wife will kill me If I destroy it first flight so I will be slow and easy..

got a quick question about the ability of the transmitter to be able to charge nicad batteries. i just recently sold my walkera rtf that accepted the wall a/c unit (plugged into the back) to charge my nicd's. i am now the proud owner of a rtf belt cp. looking at the plug diagram, it shows the positive polarity in the center of the plug on the lipo charger, but on the transmitter, it shows a negative center plug polarity. so im guessing this would not work and i would have to buy another compatible wall plug from radio shack- unless this is some sort of factory mistake/defect from esky. has anyone out there had the guts to try plugging the stock wall charger into their transmitter? please let me know so that i can learn from your mistake- haha. thanks

I've only used nimh batteries in mine (charge them separately) and i plan on doing a lipo battery as soon as I find one that fits (I know they're out there I'm just too lazy right now).

i know what you mean about laziness. i ususally charge my batteries in a seperate charger but would rather plug the transmitter in out of convenience

I love my LIPO in my Futaba 9chp. 10 - 50 times the battery life. I have to remove it to charge it, especially since i want to balance charge that lipo.

so i'm still wondering if anyone out there has safely plugged their belt cp wall adapter into their factory transmitter to charge their metal batteries. I really didn't want to be the first one to try and accidentally fry electronics. maybe I will email the company

Kennyt don't plug it in the way it is. You will definitely fry it that way. Also, the transmitter does not charge the batteries the wall charger does. The circuity in the radio just passes voltage to the battery. Does not matter what kind of battery is in there. So if the jack on the transmitter say + on the center plug you better make sure the charger plug is + on the center conductor. This is not a factory mistake they have marked it so someone does not make a mistake and plug it in backwards. I also would not use a lipo charger to charge the nicd batteries unless it says it is compatible with nicd, nimh, and lipolys.

Summary the esky transmitter just passes voltage from the port to the battery. If is says the center is positive then you need to make the center conductor positive. There is no risk of mistake if you go + to + and - to - on the charger to the battery.
Will it work most definitely and works well. You just need to be careful when selecting a charger and get the polarity correct. RS make many different voltages and miliampere chargers and they have one that will work supurbely.

Instead of buying 50 or 60 dollar packs for My JR I just go to Wal Mart and get the 2500 mah double A batteries ($20.00) and build my own packs. Most nicads are 600 mah and the run down quick. If you put a 2500 mah pack in the transmitter it will fly all day and still not need charging. To build a pack for an older radio you have to solder them together and heatshrink them. With the esky transmitters just put the batteries in and buy a charger and your ready to go. Hope this helps. Gittle

thanks for the info gittle. i know its a silly question because its so straight forward. seems like if a company makes a wall plug for an rtf unit, it should be able to plug in compatibly with all the stuff that comes in the kit and not just some of the items. its off to walmart i go.
