Default 2 ways to modify the 3800, which is best

These are the 2 most talked about ways to modify the
frame for the 3800kv motor upgrade on the HBK2.
Which mod is the best?

Are you comprimising the structure of the frame by
using a dremmel tool to trim out some of the plastic
on the back of the frame so the pinion lines up w/the
main gear?

1) Use a dremmel tool to trim out the back of the frame
so the pinion lines up with the main gear.

2) Use metal washers or spacers. No trimming of plastic
frame.
