Default When is it absolutely necessary to replace HBFP main motor ?

Hello,

My stock HBFP has reduced power, probably implying main motor wearing out. But it is still ok for practice.
I read in another forum:
"These motors shouldn't be used up until the day they die. When the brushes wear, the brush arms provide contact. When these wear, they go past the commutator and connect with each other. The motor shorts and fries your 4-in-1."

When is it absolutely necessary to replace main motor ?

Thank You.

I'm not sure theres a set time but I was flying mine alot and never noticed a power difference till I flew my newer one, thats when I noticed the difference, motor still works but lot less power, swapped a new one in and good to go, they're cheap enough that if you feel its time to replace it go for it

I know that main motor has worn (has only 20 hours) but can still use it.
So is it safe to use this motor, for say another 5-10 hours ?

don't see why not, I have like 10 times as many hours on mine, I've burnt through 2 NiMH battery packs on my HBFP, not because the packs were bad, but because I put mega flights on mine, also these are soo cool outside, hard to handle but wow, it'll handle more wind then I thought.
