Hi all
Have some problem with my new HBFP RTF.
Got it today and tried to plug the transmitter to the computer - to get some sim training before the real thing [8D].
The transmitter didn't calibrate, and a while later the comp stopped recognizing it altogether - saw it when off, but showed a malfunction on turn on (batteries were inside all that time). Calibration didn't work in either case - not even without the batteries.
I suspected a problem with the sim cable (my son pulled it slightly while connected), and decided to check the transmitter with the helicopter (without taking off) to make sure it's fine.
After about 2 hours of charging (the NiMH became quite hot) I turned on the trans. and the helicopter. The 4-in-1 LED glowed steady red without ever turning green. After a few minutes (LED still red), tried to move the cyclic stick - worked fine. Throttle and rudder - didn't.
Throttle stick and trimmer were down as written.
My suspections
1. Undercharged battery - quite unlikely (calculation shows about 2 hours charging time for a 650 mAh NiMH with teh stock charger).
2. Problem with the cable - although USB appeared to work normaly
2. Some problem with the transmitter that affects only the trainer and throttle stick .
Ideas Anybody?

If the receiver led was red and the right stick was working ,perhaps the throttle channel (channel 3) is reversed and the transmitter gives full throttle, althought the throttle stick is in lowest position. In that case, the 4 in1 unit does not give power to the motor ,for safety reasons and the receiver led gets red. There are four switches on your transmitter face, one for each channel, that allow you to set the direction of each channel. Change the direction of channel 3 and try again.
I think the manual should give you the direction of each channel (normal or reversed). Also the led gets red or flushes red, every time the receiver does not receive signal from the transmitter but as the right stick works, this is not the case.

Got a new cable. It helped.
Apparently there is a very specific order of powering up the transmitter when flying sim:
1. Turn on the transmitter
2. Connect it to the USB
3. Wait a few moments
4. Turn on the FMS
On power down - it's exactly the opposite order:
1. Close FMS
2.Disconnect the USB cable
3Switch the transmitter off.
