Just got my HBFP...have hovered off the ground several times just to get the feel for it (came from several years of co-ax) and I like the challenge...this'll be fun! It's pretty "scittery", but I think I'll eventually get it (after lots o' sim and radd)......some questions though:
- Using the undershaft location for the 800mah lipo makes er' tail heavy. Someone mentioned mounting it under the 4in1....how to do this with stock frame/skids?
- Main blade tracking is off...looking closer, it appears the entire bladegrip assembly is tilted ever so slightly so it appears one blade is always hanging lower than the other. How does the bladegrip/head mount to the main shaft? It looks like there is some type of metal bearing and some grub screws in there, but I don't know how it comes off? I've tried bending the plastic blades, but with the bladegrips tilted, tracking is kinda difficult! Anyone seen this before? I don't think the shaft is bent, and the swash/links all look pretty good? It is possible for the rotor head to be bent or out of position? I haven't crashed it yet, or even had a hard landing, this is all from the factory!
- How do you get to the main blade screws....they're upside down? Odd? Long screwdriver through the main gear holes? Surely there's an easier way?
- My plastic tail rotor gear is "warped". Not much, but the gear surface moves back and forth in the drive gear by about 1/16". Doesn't seem to be affecting anything, but could this be problematic?
- Have severe vibration on main rotor. Haven't balanced the blades yet, but I will. But how do you balance the flybar paddles? Measure distance to center? Pop the rotor head apart and put the paddle assembly on a balance point? I see they use grub screws to attach and I assume they can be slid in or out on the bar? Can you run the main drive motor slow with no blades just to check paddles, flybar, shaft and swash for vibration?
Thanks all!

Never mind....I found a lot of info on the net that explains a lot of this. There's a series of HBFP videos on youtube from a guy that shows a complete drivetrain assembly....very handy to see how it all goes together...answered a lot of my questions.
Although.....I see most lipo mount mods seem to reverse the stock skids and use CF rods to build a support on the front to hold the battery. I heard a CP battery tray fits the HBFP in some way....anyone got a nice parts swap mod that could work? I may end up with superskids, so it may not matter.....
