why would you want to considering all the other options of motors that drop in and are known to work correctly with it?
If your new its best NOT to experiement with unknowns when you have a choice of knowns, as will find yourself in uncharted areas and when you have a problem you will have to totally solve it on your own. Not sure who said that but I learned that somewhere...

well i do my best learning/adapting in uncharted areas lol (nascar mechanic) i just don't know if a ducted fan outrunner is the same as a heli outrunner, it was the only thing at the local store with more than 2200mV, that's why i was askin btw
thanks

ahh ok, Due to the gearing in the HB and CP generaly need a motor up in the 3500 to 4000KV range.
I would stick with upgrading to a Esky 3800 or 3900 motor with at least a NON Esky ESC of about 35A or more. Ether one will cost about 60$ total to install with a new pinion gear. One (3900) is a drop in and the other is needs a minor alteration to drop in.

well the ducted fan outrunner by e-flite looks almost identical to a regular E-Flite outrunner for a heli, but all the helli motors are lower than 2200mV, the ducted fan brushless is 3500mV, hence my misunderstanding
