Perry Swap Meet

RE: Perry Swap Meet
I have to check it out. It is only a 15 hour drive. The wife wants to go too, and I will not be able to bring the van, so I can't get too much :-( Hope the cheap motels aren't booked.

Man, if you are driving 15 hours, yu need to bring a BIG truck. It is the biggest swapmeet in the US, and the prices are usually pretty good. Considering the Canadien-USexchange rate, you could fill up a truck pretty nicely...haha.
Hotels are usually pretty reasonable. They range from $50-$75 USD, some even cheaper. You will have a blast.

My van is 25 years old too. We will have to drive around Florida for a month with it too, so I will have to limit myself to the car. If I don't get much, I won't save much. Hmm. I could mail it home.

RE: Perry Swap Meet
Perry is the largest swap meet in the southeast. it is a combo for the normal swap item stuff as well as new stuff from top name vendors. The only down side is by Saturday afternoon 2pm the place is a ghost town as the show is Friday afternoon and Saturday. Get a room early ... the ones around the site sell out a year in advance.
It is a great time.

A group of us from Louisville, KY are coming down. I got my motel room and table reserved. I will be selling a big Fleet Biplane and an entry-level ducted fan jet. Maybe some glow engines.
I'll be looking for big warbirds, maybe a new Futaba radio.
If you're on the fence about it, you should really go! It's like Disney World for model airplanes!

If, by chance, the Perry motels are full, you might look at Warner Robins or Byron GA.
Both have fairly new decent motels, and relatively low prices.
RV camping on the fairgrounds fills up fairly fast.

I usually bring an empty pick up and a full wallet! This year I will be joining some of my fellow DCAM flyers and sell a few things....A 98" fiberglass UAV drone ARF NITB, two Goldberg Eagle kits NITB, several other kits, several assembled used park flyers, and lots of parts. Not sure what I'll be shopping for, just see whats there and "trips my trigger". I love Perry!!

Well it looks like we will be bringing up a RTF Top Flite P-47 giant ARF.G-62 and Robart landing gear. Airplane has 6 flights on it. Let me know if anyone wants to see it before we bring it into the show. We have been pretty lucky the past few years and have most stuff sold before we make it to the tables.

wilson,
It is a great time for sure. You will have a great time. It is a festive type atmosphere and there is fun even after hours. Be sure and looks some of us up when you get there. It is nice to put faces to some of the names here. Have a safe trip, I am sure this will not be your last.

RE: Perry Swap Meet
lets see...
If i bring stuff to sell , i might not be able to get any thing back if it doesn't sell.
Imight have to bring my "enterprise" starship that is done as a night flyer.. for that event... but most likely be too tired to stand after all day
