Default *Evansville First Annual Rascal 110 Fly-in*

The Evansville RC Model Aircraft Club (ERCMAC) in Evansville, Indiana will be hosting it's first Annual *Rascal 110 Fly-in* on Saturday July 11, 2009. This fly-in is targeted for the Sig Rascal 110 but is an open fly-in. Join us for a fun day of flying and bring whatever you want to fly. We talked to the people from Sig Manufacuring at the Toledo show and they have shown an interest and want to come to the event. There will be a $10.00 landing fee and food available. A flyer will be posted later. If you have any questions about the Fly-in please email Bob Alspaugh (AKA Zippi).

Zippi,

Hey, just saw the date, that will work out great for the ones here in Bowling Green, KY. I have spoken with the majority of the club members here, and that date works for us. So far i have commitments from six, including myself. I still need to get in touch with the rest of the Rascal owners here, but i am sure they will make arrangements. Maybe i can get it in gear and have the "Skunk Rascal" done by then! I also let the HP from Henderson, KY know the date for the fly-in and he is gonna pass the word to the rest of the club. HP told me that there are 4 Rascal 110's in their club.

Alright Rascal Pilots, lets get the ball rolling and make this an awesome event. I have been to the Evansville R/C Club for some of their events (Warbird and Giant Scale) and this club goes above and beyond to make sure everyone has a great time. The food is always great!!!!

Here is a link to the club site www.evansvillercclub.com

Great job Zippi for getting this started!! Let me know what I can do to help in this event.

Thanks
Eric

The *Rascal 110 Fly-in* has got the makens of a great event. It's still early but I'm trying to work out all the details for food, volunteers, and see if we can get a few donations from hobby shops so we can have a raffle. I have someone putting a call in to Sig manufacturing to give them the date and see if they are going to be coming. They sounded really positive about wanting to be at this event. They did say that the Rascal 110 is their best seller and they still have plans to produce the ARF. That is good news.

Dave,

Thanks for the offer. Lowell and I will be needing some help. We'll get with you when it's crunch time.

Ron,

It would be nice if the Colorado guys could make it but if not, we would be honored to have you and your Rascal at our meet. Look forward to meeting you.

Wish I could have been there man. With Sunday being Mothers Day I had to stay around the house and help the wife plant flowers, take her to lunch, etc. I plan on getting my Rascal out this coming Sunday.

I was just told about the recent passing of Scott Christensen in December of 2008. Scott was the vice president of R&D and head designer for Sig Manufacturing since 1999. This fly-in is to pay tribute to Scott Christensen the designer of the Rascal 110. Here is an updated flyer.

Eric,

That's what I'm talken about dude. I think the last count so far was around 20 Rascal 110's headed this way come July 11. Those Ribeye sandwiches are sounden mighty good with some barbeque backed beens . Mike Lee and a couple of his buddies from Sig manufacturing have this day on their calendar but it's not comfirmed yet, just talk on*********.

Zippi what is the count up to now? I finished the rebuild on mine last night and will be at a fly in tomorrow. We are very excited. It is an 8 hour drive but it will be so worth it. We are leaving after I get off work on Friday and should be at the motel around 11pm. We will stay in town Saturday also and drive back Sunday. It will be an awesome weekend. Now if I can figure out how to get the 110, 50Trainer and the LT40 all in the van along with 3 people.

Anyone interested in a brand new Blue/White Rascal 110??
I recently assembled one for a club member who has now decided to sell it RTF less RX. This plane has a brand new, never started Zenoah G-26EI on it. The plane has 4 new digital JR sport servos and a standard throttle servo. All switches and charge jacks are installed....has a 6 volt sub-c for a flight pack and a 4.8 sub-c for the ignition. Also installed on this Rascal is a new B & B Specialties header and new True Turn 3 1/2" Ultimate style spinner with adapter nut.
If anyone is interested in this plane, send me a PM or e-mail me for the sellers contact info.
I do not have any photos of the plane fully assembled with the wings on, but i do have a few during the assembly.

THIS PLANE COULD BE DELIVERED TO THE "EVANSVILLE RASCAL 110 FLY-IN" on July 11th. I can find room in my trailer for 1 more.......i think.

Thanks
Eric

Iwould love to Eric but the stable is full.

I flew at the Petit Jean Fun Fly today. It was the first flight after the big crash. It flew great ...... well until the engine siezed. I suspect it was hold over damage from the crash. Ralf Cunningham has a lot of work to do so I can have her ready for the 110 fly in july 11th. Oh I made a perfect downwind emergency landing. With great luck. Here are some pics.

King

i hate to hear that about your powerplant. i went through some trouble at the end of the flying season last fall, and luckily i sent it back to Zenoah repair service and they had a really quick turn around time. the Rascal sure looks good with the flaps and i cant wait to see how slooow she will fly. we had a club function today and i did not even get my 110 out, spent most of the day with my older son and his new 50cc Yak. there is always tomorrow as long as the weather dont go south on us. get the engine repaired and we should see you in Evansville!!!!

Eric,

I thought Lowell might be interested in the Rascal 110. We were measuring his car this morning to see if it would fit. He told me just before he left the field today that he bought it. Great to see another happy Rascal 110 owner and another one that will be at the event in July. .

I'm coming in from Bowling Green with Eric. I have flown at a couple of Evansvilles Big Birds with my Rascal. It is always a good time.
