Hello everyone! The Southeast Missouri Modelers Association (SEMMA) in Cape Girardeau, MO (just south of St Louis, MO) will be having a fly-in to help support St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. It will be an honor to put on this event to help support the care that St. Jude provides for the children. This event will be JUNE 12th and 13th. Since there will be no Huckfest this year in St. Louis, I hope that everyone could help us make this a very successful event. All of the information is on our website.

I know the calendar gets crowded fast every year, but did you notice that your event is scheduled the same weekend as Joe Nall? I'm in Mid-MO and would like to make it down, like a lot of others, I will be at Joe Nall that weekend.

Got back in touch with Gerry Hinshaw today, he is good with the new dates. Also been talking to a few of the local hotels about getting discounted rates for the pilots traveling in...will have more info on it in the next few days.

To the pilots coming in and need lodging...I have negotiated some discounted rates at the Drury Lodge and Drury Suites for the weekend. I have 5 Non-Smoking 2-double bed rooms, 5 smoking 2-double bed rooms, 6 non-smoking 1-double bed rooms, and 7 non smoking 1-king bed rooms blocked at Drury Lodge for $89.00 a night. I have 10 non-smoking 2 double bed suites at Drury Suites for $109.00. To make reservations at Drury Lodge call 573-334-7151 and at the Suites call 573-339-9500. Tell either place that you are with the SEMMA Charity Fun Fly 2010 group to get the discounted rates. I am also working on getting rooms with Victorian Inn as well. Will post when I have that info available. Hope to see you all in June.

I now have 15 rooms with Victorian Inn. We have a Run of House block so just tell them what kind of room you want: smoking, non-smoking, single or 2 bed, handi-cap, etc. The rates are $89.00 a night. To make reservations at the Victorian call 1-800-331-0445 and ask for the Remote Control Aircraft Association Block to get the discounted rates.

We will also be mailing this info out with the flier.

I have got donations from Heads-Up RC, Troybuilt Models, Castle Creations, BandE Graphix, Chief Aircraft, and I also have donations coming from Aero-Works, Vess Props, RC Armour, Aero-Graphix, Heliproz, Desert Aircraft to name a few. I still have ALOT more places I am waiting to hear back from.

There will also be a young man at the event that is a St. Jude patient. He is 7 years old and has Leukemia(in remission). He was diagnosed in July of 09 and was admitted to St. Jude immediately. He was there until he was released to come home on New Years Eve. He went into remission a couple months after being there but had to complete all the treatments and has been fine so far outside of his regular appointments in Memphis. He is looking forward to this event as I am sure we all are. This will be his first experience around the world of RC Aircraft. Lets put on an AWESOME show and make it a great weekend.
