WARBIRDS OVER DENVER!
Hi All,
The following posts will contain shots from the Warbirds Over Denver event hosted by the Jefco Aeromod'lers. We had a rain shower for about 15 minutes mid-afternoon, but as soon as the last drop fell, guys were in the air!
Here's an opening selection of pilots getting their planes ready for the day's open flying.
Michael

Ken Monblatt, creator and marketing genius behind [link=http://franchise.rc-hobbies.com/]RC Hobbies[/link] brought his dog, trailer and a full complement of jets and large warbirds. Baron Von Stukel (seen with bipe) was never far behind with his expert calling and WWI style bipe.

Larry Laughlin scorched the skies with his Bobcat XL! He then switched over to his turbine heli to burn a few more quarts of kero.

Shaz entertained U.S. war veterans, introducing them to the rarefied world of RC. Shaz provided lunch for these war heros and then followed with a demonstration of his own by flying his turbine powered F-15 Eagle. I don't have flight shots because Shaz told me he wasn't going to fly and then AFTER I packed my camera away, he changed his mind!

RE: WARBIRDS OVER DENVER!
A cadre of pilots peppered the mile-high air with WWII warbirds. CD Laura Knowlton and flightline coordinator Tom were so excited, I saw them jumping up and down (until somebody looked over).

Team Futaba and world-class pilot Ryan Haldenwanger stole the show with his precision flights on a huge Spitfire (not his) and his 1/6 scale Skymaster F-16. I have some video clips of the F-16 and I will upload and link to them.

RE: WARBIRDS OVER DENVER!
The gear got stuck on this beautiful F-100 but Clark (I think that's you, right?) flew it nicely.

Shaz, that is one Hell of a nice jesture. If I were there I'd tip my hat to you sir. Sometimes we forget why we are allowed to fly model warbirds, its because of our Troops and the Vets!!! Certainly not because of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave!!!

Shazam,
You are the man! Thanks for organizing the Vet visit. It was truly an honor to meet those brave men and watch the glint in their eyes as they rolled along pit row. I was especially touched when "Bob" patted the canopy of the Corsair and said "This was my Baby!". The comment that, being able to attend an event like this gives them reason to go on awhile longer, brings a tear to my eye. Please accept our heartfelt thanks for organizing this and we look forward to the next occasion when we can honor those who answered the call to arms in defense of what we often take for granted.
