Engine Identification?
Can anyone tell me anything about this engine? I know its a diesel and it came out of a control line plane. Its pretty good size 3.75 inches front to back and 3 inches top to bottom I'm guessing without taking the engine apart .75 bore and .75 stroke. I cannot locate any markings on this engine to give me clues.

And Carlson sells them too -

And if its .75 x .75 ci then thats about 9cc but the biggest they made was the K-650B/B thats is 6.5 cc.
Cheers.
P.S. Had another look and attached a second pic that exactly matches your head style and it is a 2.5cc.

RE: Engine Identification?
It does look identical to the second picture although it doesn't have any markings and they don't appear to have been removed. I was guessing on the bore I hadn't taken it apart. Thanks alot guys I know how I'll use it then.

A few more pictures of the Aurora from the same site. The red anodized one is the 2.5cc C/L(no ring muffler) and the other are of the 6cc R/C
http://www.rojobcn.com/indexmotores.htm
Seems that the 6cc was the biggest produced.

RE: Engine Identification?
I bought two (2) of K-600's a while back as they were on special on Mr Carlson's site. I see they still are.
I stripped them and found there were too many issues for them to be considered runners. The design seems fine, but QC is non-existent. The crankcase casting on one of them has to be seen to be believed, it has a major flaw in the nose webbbing.
I sent one to David Owen who said it was not economically feasible to build a runner out of it. Little end of the conrod was oblongated. Conrods seem to have been (badly) hand filed and drilled.
The examples I have could be re-assembled and turned into mantlepiece queens; but I can't be bothered. They sit in bits, in disgrace, in an old lunch box at a mate's place. He is a small engine mechanic and shows them off to visitors as the worst examples of a model engine he has ever seen.
