Thanks, although I have bought and sold a lot of diesel, don't know much about them, open to offers if anyone wants it. Still can't understand why any engine manf would not put their name or size on an engine.

That appears to be this engine, a PAW .09, that lever on top is not stock, nor is the position of the collector ring.

Ronwc it will have a number stamped on the backplate 09,`15, 19 etc , that is the displacement in C.I. you might want to show it on the diesel site martin

it should have 09 stamped on the back plate

No markings on backplate, but now I see TBR on mount under muffler.

The .09 and others come in two ball bearing and single ball bearing versions. Brits call it Two Ball races.

It's a PAW 1.49 RC BR or TBR from about 15 or 20 years ago.
I think the prop spinner nut is from a later version.
The BR or TBR possibility should be resolved by looking on the LHmounting lug.
Here's mine.
Great engine to use and economical on fuel. The engine shown consumes about 1 cc of fuel per minute during normal in-flight idling.

Hey Hobbsy, the collector ring really has no 'stock' position but six different positional possibilities open to it (the four bolt head designs have eight!) The side to rear position shown is quite good if a firewall happens to be close to the cooling jacket. Thanks.

I have a .60 and a .40, the .40 lives hidden in a Sig Rascal 40 and the .60 lives in its box. I actually had to disassemble the .40 to get it in the Rascal then reassemble it in the plane. You might say that the .60 is a bench queen.
