doesnt Davil Diesel have heads for those engines?

If not, try contacting a local machinist hobbiest (is there someone in your club or area?).

I have made my own diesel conversion heads for many engines and it isnt hard at all, just takes a few hours of your time. Maybe you can work out a deal with them... ?

No Davis Diesel is not yet making heads for GMS'.
I would not have the first clue as to make one.
I was hopeing for some one who would build one for a reasonable price.
Thanks Wade

wjames,
You might check with DDD first. They don't make heads for some engines because conversions don't work well with those engines.

Wade,
If you want, send me your engine and I will make a head and see how it turns out. As long as you're not in a big rush, as I have a lot to do this winter but if it doesnt work no loss to you. If it does we can work it out.

Any modern ABC engine should be able to be dieselised if the compression is still good.

If you want to talk to me, email me at:

[email protected]

I am fairly well known here in Canada (been into modelling since the 70's) and my MAAC # is 26287. I am also on RC Canada, and many guys there know me and can tell you I wouldnt try and pull a fast one. If you havent allready checked it out, please do. Its a great place for Canadian (and others!) modellers to go and chat with a Canadian flavour...

Talk to you later,
Andrew Coholic

PS about 3 or 4 issues of the MAAC magazine ago, I had an article on building model engines, if you didnt read or see it, it shows a lot of my work.

Thank you Andrew for the interest in helping.I would not question your honesty as I read both here and at RC Canada(but seldom post)and your help is oustanding.
I have one more thing I want to read up on .
velocity said in a post I started in Diesel section there is an article in the latest RCM mag about a universal diesel conversion? just waiting for the mag. to hit the newsstand.
I have bookmark your email and will let you know the details on the engine etc.
Thanks again and will email you soon.

Wade, that article is in Clarence Lees column. Its a thing called the gadjet, basically a plug that replaces the glowplug and turns your engine into a non-adjustable diesel. You have to play around with the ether content to get it running right.

I thought more about it and I would like to try and dieselise your GMS if you are interested. I would do it for pretty cheap, just to try. ANd if I wreck the engine (never know, it may bend a rod or something worse case senario) I will buy a new one for you.

You know how to get in touch... later!
