Default REAR Induction

[] This engine with a big K on the crank case and .15 . Made in Italy on the under side
of mount. Question were is the opening at top dead centre. The original plastic plate was
melted when freeing up motor from no use. A friend has made a new plate but the opening
and closing % may be wrong.

Your engine is a Kosmic racing engine made in Italy around 1975. they also made a glow version. Your backplate is on upside down, as the intake should be on the top right side looking at the rear of the engine. AT TDC the intake should be about 1/4 to closed. it should begin to open just after BDC. These are radically timed engines and can be hard to start with the larger venturi. You may have to use a smaller venturi or constant bladder tank pressure to get it running. Incidentally, your picture is without any venturi at all and it will not start or run in this condition!

Here is what it should look like if you can see some of the back. I don't have mine available but at least you can get an idea of the venturi and placement!
