3 blade props for diesels
Could I please have some personal opinions about 3 blade props for diesels. I have limited ground clearance, but do not want to lose a great deal of efficency (assuming there is an efficency loss at these lower rpms) . What RPM is the lowest you all would go with a .40 sized diesel swinging a 3 blade?
Additionally, what size 3 blades would be good for a .40 (i was thinking an 11x5 3 blade is a good place to start)?
Note: I would prefer greater static thrust over speed. - an 11x6 apc (2 blade) is the same load as an 11x4 3 blade and should provide about 1.4 lbs of extra thrust at same rpm with a much slower speed but these are probably on the small side.
Thanks and Happy Holidays.

RE: 3 blade props for diesels
Luft, I run a 12x6 three blade on my PAW .40, it turns it at 8,300 rpm. At Diesel and fourstroke rpm the effeciency is a non issue. Your 11x5 three blader sounds like a good choice.
