Gving the norvel/AP 061 a rest for a while turning my attention for now to my Pulse XT40 I do have the OS46AX conversion as one choice and to refresh my memory put my tiger shark 56 ringed conversion on the bench again today 12x6 wood zinger davis abc
mix the engine may only have about 30 minutes total time and held a steady 9800 again started late it got dark the graupner 12x6
would have done better it always beats the zinger by at least 500 this plane might do better on a 13x5 when done and in the air
will play with 13x4 or 5 martin the TS is the same engine as a JEN56

A couple of days ago I ran a bunch of differnt props on my OS 40 LA and held it straight up to see wich one had the best static pull. It did the best with a K series MAS 13x5. I had been running a K series 12x6. I flew it a few more times and was having so much fun trying to hover and then I crashed the plane after an inverted recovery and a bit of stick confusion[&o] I was really suprised it worked so well on that giant prop! Top speed was down a bit though from the 12x6.

Chevy too bad about the stick at least it ws not a $7000 jet,I think you answered the question have a stick also, to put together will put the 46AX in that. Did the engine and radio gear servos etc survive?/Your mix with the used oil may be better than new for the
engines since non ringed it must have a fair amount of soot in it which is slippery and may "plate" for a better term to the surfaces
and hold down the wear.and the viscosity most be hiher than fresh oil , the larger diameter props of course do better in hovers martin

I think all the gear is ok. If I decide to fix the plane I will have to rebuild the fuse. from the wing forward and I have some wing repair to do. I have some other plane ideas anyway though.
The 46 should work great on a stick - plenty of power. I like to be able to see and reach the engine with diesels. It makes starting much easier. I like to see when the fuel is at the carb and be able to choke and adjust things quickly - that is what is nice about Sticks - no cowell.

LOL. Fast enough to fold the wings!
I forgot you may have had a hankering for speed. But I know you don't want to change the shape of your wings. LOL. So, can we add another speed freak to the club list?
I have a chart that shows pitch of the prop, rpm of the engine and theoretical speed. Its on the other PC. I'll post it in a mo.

A 14 X 4 would do even better. Back in the mid 70's Peter Chinn reviewed the first schnurle ported OS, the 40 FSR ring on our diesel system and ran a 14 X 4 at 8500 Rpm. That's 3D 30 years before 3D. it in the website. Today if you put that prop on a 40 LA you would get similar rpm and that's about 5 or 6 lbs of thrust.
