OS 32sx converted to diesel for 3-D?
I am using an OS 32sx fo ra small 3-D plane that was converted to nitro. A Quique 49" Yak that came as electric. The electric version ran a 14" prop. My 32 will only allow an 11x5. I have not flown the plane yet but want to get as much power as possible to get a larger prop for 3-D. Would this be practical to convert? I cannot add any more weight to the plane. I did not see a listing of heads on Davis' site. Does one exist?

Diesel is not hard to ture, just different.
Engines that seem to respont to diesel conversion have a slower port timing.
meaning timing that allows all of the fuel to be burnt before the exhaust port opens.
Will your OS32 respond well to diesel?
You need to ask DDD himself.
Give Davis Diesel a call and ask what's up with the OS 32sx.
Bob will lay it all out for you. If he isn't busy be prepaired to spend some time learning.

RE: OS 32sx converted to diesel for 3-D?
Thanks for the reply Ralph
I have been running engines for 15 years and have been working on over the road diesel engine for 5 years, so I believe I have the credentials.
I have made modifications to the crankshaft port opening. I didnt change the timing of the opening but rather knife edged the port wall. It made the engine more effecient and I was able to lean it out one more click due to better fuel draw.
i doubt it will affect a different fuel because the principals are the same, but take a look and tell me what you think. You can see the thinner wall on the right side. As the crank spins into the crank case it scoops more.
