Diesel conversions using existing head
Does anyone know anything about these gadgets that you screw into the exisiting cylinder head in place of the glow plug to convert to diesel? Do they work? Where can a person get one of these?

I think I have heard mention of such a device. I've run a regular glowplug K&B 4011 on Davis 1/2A diesel fuel and it ran fine. I had to leave the glow plug battery on for about 30 seconds until it warmed up so it would run steady.

There is indeed such a gadget, of all things called the Gadget, it is mfg. and sold by a man in LongIsland by the name of Lou Furco. RedMax has the fuel for it.

RE: Diesel conversions using existing head
Yes, and they are a glow plug drilled out and fitted with a copper plug. The idea behind them is to let someone explore running their engine on diesel to see if they like the whole diesel concept without spending a lot of money. While they run, they do not run at optimum setting as they are non-adjustable and every engine is different. As an experiment, they are fun, but for practical use (like flying an airplane) they are not worth a crap.
