oil types
 

hi all

just got my hands on a used g booster 80.
in the instructions it says turbine oil. wot other oils will be suitable?
could i use mobil dte light with this turbine?

I am not sure on the exact specs for a Booster 80 but the evoJet Booster 90 calls out MIL spec MIL-L-23699. The booster 90 manual calls out Areoshell 500, but any MIL-L-23699 spec oil will work fine. I run BP 2389, BP 2380, and Mobil Jet 2. All with no issues.

I know Chad runs a Red line synthetic oil, he can give you specifics on that oil.

Snatch,

When in doubt, go with Dave's advice and run MIL-L-23699 spec oil. I am testing the Redline 2 stroke Racing oil as we speak so the factory can compare the wear patterns to that of aeroshell 500. For now, stick with the commonly accepted turbine oils.
