EXI Hobby 450
I brought the EXI 450 last week and the DX6i Transmitter. To answer the question, "Is the EXI capatible with T-Rexx 450 SE really?" It's truly a capatible heli and the price is excellent! Once I finished binding the transmitter with the reciever, the heli worked fine. I did have one problem, I did set the servo correctly the first time and burned it out to the point the gears in the gyro jammed up. But after I manage to replace the servo and tested the heli again, all went well. I more amped to say that the EXI is capable with all 450 series helis. My servos are from E-flite, my motor is the 450 Apha, and my ESC is from Exceed RC 35A. Because I have a Spektrum transmitter, it came with the receiver.
Money spent:
1. Motor $26 xheli.com
2. ESC $N/A xheli.com
3. Digital Servos $17.99 ea. HobbyTown USA
4. Digital Gyro $46.00 (any gyro works)
5. Lipo Battery $75.00 (I used the same charger from my Raptor)
The DX6i & Receiver $179.99
EXI Hobby 450 $99.00
Even with all the parts I bought for the heli, it still did not come to the price of a RTF T-Rexx 450 SE.
Somethings that I notice because of the type of transmitter I have. You can use any servo or gyro as long as its digital with the DX6i transmitter. But I would stay with in the realm of the 450 helis series.

RE: EXI Hobby 450
I ran into a problem here, my son got into my room and try to fire it up without me being there. (YOU KNOW I'M MAD) now I can't get the heli to respond right now because I don't know what he did. When I turn everything on the Spektrum receiver light is dim and some of the servos are not responding. Then when I give it some throttle to get the main rotors turning the ESC beeps and rotor turn slightly and stops. I can kick this boy butt! HELP PLEASE, now I'm lost!

RE: EXI Hobby 450
Hey Yadac, I will try that first thing in the morning. Thanks! By the way, let me ask you this before I forget. Do the amps matter when you dealing with the battery, motor, esc, and reciever? Do all have to be on the same level? If so, could you give me suggestions. I was thinking about buying everything from the T-rex 450SE for the EXI. Even with the electronics I do have for EXI, it gets alittle confusing far as the voltage.Give your input on this buddy.

Franklin the EXI 450 is the equivelant of the Trex 450 SA not the SE, but for 99.00 not too bad, though you can get the trex 450SA with ESC and Motor for 199.00 now. I have been thinking about picking one of these up does it come with the linkages? Thanks Gene

Hey Gene, it comes with all the linkage, all you have to do is buy the electronics for it. ESC, Transmitter, Reciever, and servos. To cut some of the headache, you might want to buy the futaba or Spektrum transmitter. They have bundle deals where you might get the servos and recievers. I didn't want to waste time, so I brought the Spektrum DX6i transmitter. You just have to adjust the settings. Seeing how the EXI was similar to the T-Rex, I adjusted my DX6i to those settings.

Hey Yadac, I think I might have shorted out my battery. I did what you told me to do and no change. I check everything and I notice that the battery is not working correctly. The light on the reciever was dim as hell, so I put the battery on the charger because I had not charged it in 2 days. 20 minutes after I hook the battery to the charger, the charges states that the battery is charged. Then I thought about what you said about the battery being strong enough to handle the ESC which is 35 amps and the battery puts out 25C continuous 25C Climbouts and 50C Max Burst. (EVO25 2170 mAh 3s 11.1v Lipo)

RE: EXI Hobby 450
Thanks Franklin I have everything but the spare motor to put in and already use a DX6i for both my Belt CP, Trex 450XL and Blade CP Pro. Love that 2.4 digital TX makes it so much easier.

No problem at all Gene. Now if I can get mines going again. It's a short somewhere in the system. Yadac just gave me an idea to get a volmeter to test the battery.
