Exceed Rc Ultra Converted
Well I was about to get rid of my Exceed Ultra when one of my buds decided he was going to do something I never though about. He converted his to electric. So i decided to do the same. It actually wasn't hard to do at all. While I was working on the conversion I decided to do somethings that made a little more since. For the conversion I used the ( 2)Exceed Rc Champion motor mounts, an HPI center shaft (since it is a couple mm long than the stock shaft), Associated 72t spurgear, savox mg1251 servo, and a castle mamba max pro (5700kv) brushless system. I put a 2s Gens ace mah battery 40c battery on it. I only had to drill two holes in the chassis to make the mounts fit.
The changes I did to the car that made since were to help it handle a little better. I got rid of all the standard oils and grease. I put some 120,000wt oil in the front diff, 3,000wt oil in the rear, I emptied the shocks and place some 40wt oil in the shocks. Right now the car has a 25t pinion in it. The car has never never run so good. I want to find a track to put it on so I can really see what it can do.
Next up is some more speed I will go up to a 32t 33t pinon ( if I can find one) and a 3s battery. This is not going to be a permanent thing, but I just have to do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
