For it to operate properly I have set the transmitter to reverse for it to run normally. How can this happen? How do I fix this? Most of the time the engine is very hard to start.

I don't know if this will help you at all, my first problem was that when I did get it running I would apply the brakes and the car would die...I had to set the carb. With the transmitter and the receiver on (the buggy not running) I first removed the air filter... apply the brakes and keept on adjusting the the carb until 1/16 to 1/32 opening stayed open when I applied the brakes. Then I went ahead and adjust the low idle to 1/16 as a base point...then I went and borrowed the wifes hair dryer to heat up the heatsink.....then applyed the ignitor...and sarted the break in process. This is my first nitro car so this advice is for a total novice. I had a hard time with my engine and I think after messing with it for a few days that the glowplug element was not heating up the completely. (reason for the hair dyer). Your vehicle may not start because you have it set too rich causing the engine to flood, or the glow plug is bad. remember that you have to prime the fuel line prior to starting the buggy. Try is and see if yo have any luck..
