For the APC sport series props their red line = 190,000 divided by diameter. I don't know what the rule of thumb is for carbon props. If you are trying for 200 mph, what do you figure the winning combination will be of prop and rpm...?

I'm thinking that a 13X16 CF prop spinning at 11,500 on a 115 drinking 70% nitro has a chance with the right airframe. Mine may even do it out of a dive. May give Jeff a fuse and a set of cores and let him play with it. Personally, I think I want to concentrate on flying around pylons.

Shawn I will call you. I would pay for all the material.

also on a 13 inch prop the max rec by APC is 14,600. I dont think the 115 will do that on a 13" pitch prop.

Jeff, I have seen a couple of the 14" props come apart at under 11K. If I was to pursue getting as much speed out of my airplane as I could I would mold up some CF props. I think the farthest I am going to go is take that 14.5X14.5 and some 50% fuel and start trimming the prop down until I get 10K and see what that gets me. It would be nice if I was able to keep up with Verano with that combo.

Yes i think you would be able to keep up with him with a 14x14N prop and 50-60% easily. those props came apart more than likely had damage from the spinner and that with the high G turns killed the prop.
