A few freinds at the club are in a little speed war ,, i can only get my pattern plan to 120 mph ,, a freing is soon bringing out a plane that is sure to hit 140 to 150 ,, I am planning on putting a jett 50 or 60 in it ,,, or what ever it takes,, I need a good plane and i will have retracts in it ,, so please what to get and where to get it ,,, IT HAS TO GO OVER 150 ,,,

RE: I need speed
Just get a Lanier Predator or GP Viper Q-500 put the Jett on and that should do it-
The Delta's are quick also- Whiplash or Diamond Dust (No landing gear tho-)

RE: I need speed
Stick your Jett 50 on the nose of the Kanghe F3D.....you'll have their heads spinning! (and yours too) You'll do better than 120mph with a stock 46 motor. The drag on these is minimal, and they fly awesome.
Shoot, I may just get another one to stick in the rafters.....you know.....as a back-up!

RE: I need speed
Just for quick info, if you are thinking about using a Jett, take a look at the holiday special page on the web site.
I recently flew the Kanghe f3D with the Jett 35 up front..... fits much better than the .50, and it was smokin !!! 9x6 prop at above 18,000 rpm.

Check here:
http://www.atsrcplanes.com/productplane.htm
The one I have, I got on Ebay. They seem to appear there quite often, by independent Hobby Stores, so check there first. I paid $149 with shipping. If you buy from Kanghe direct (Super Craft), the price is $157.77
I have the ST 45 on mine, and I would guess the speed at around 130-135mph, damn near as fast as my F-20 with the Jett 90 up front. Expect MORE with the Jett 50.
Gary
Edit>> I just checked my "link", and saw they are on sale for $147.77....10 bucks off! hmmm

RE: I need speed
James,
I think the ST 45 is starting to break in, cause that little plane is movin' out! I would love to know what kind of speed this would get with a Jett 50. Man, that would be "scary" fast!
Right now, I would say your Patriot has the nod for speed with the stock 45 on the F3D, BUT....and that's a big BUT , I'm afraid your Patriot would look like a "low rider" if I stuck my 50 in it!! [X(]
Man, it's to bad nobody built a F-20 type plane like the F3D. With the tapered leading edges, thin airfoil, sealed hinge lines, etc., that'd be cool....and FAST! [sm=spinnyeyes.gif]
