Magnum how tough?
Hi
I am keen on the Weston Magnum. The only problem is that the site I fly at is pretty rough. Landings are mostly into long grass or edge of a wheat field. Can anyone please tell me how well the magnum would cope with these conditions?
I current fly SPADS at the site so that's not been a problem.
Thanks.

Petelivez,
It is a pretty tough plane. You can always add a strip of hardwood or carbon fiber as a skid plate. The covering will obviously tear if hit by something sharp. The plane really slows down well for landing.

Magnum how tough?
Hi,
Don't worry about the landings...I wish we had grass here in Dubai..I have been landing on sand which when it has got wet and humid then dried out is like sand paper, first flight took off all the underbelly covering, since then I have epoxied a strip of litho plate, as it's cheap and light, infact the reverse side says "gents toilets" picked it up from the local hardware shop!
Works really well...this is one good looking plane, and it handles really well at all speeds, landings just a case of cutting the engine and gliding her in, pull up the nose at touch down and wait for the round of applause from the spectators.
Have fun

Magnum how tough?
we land in rough grazing grass and hard sheep poo landmines. also the electric fence posts can bite, but its strong enough and the long grass sounds good ( except for the carb ) the wing is foam so you wont make any holes in it.
