Hi!

I have owned the Strega by phoenix models and i would not recommend it because it is essentially a pylon racer that is "ok" to fly in a "straight and level flight pattern" BUT try and do some basic aerobatics like loops and rolls and it has a very very nusty habbit to snap at the slightest incorrect input of controls, especially elevator. In mine i had to move the elevator servo to the rear and have a direct and short control linkage so as to reduce the snapping tendency. Furthermore, the strega likes to fly fast at all atitudes and at lower speeds it will drop a wing, usually the left one.

I would say that you will be far better off with the F20 and is also a nicer looking plane. The OS 55 AX will be a good match for the F20.

toro: I think you would be happy with the F-20. It is a 'big' airplane and it looks very cool. Here is a pic of my wife holding one.

It supposedly flys 100mph but man it sure looks faster then that!

Has anyone put a 60 size engine in a F-20 yet? I just bought a Phoenix Models F-20 and I have an OS 46 FX which I know would work but I also have a 61 FX and a 61 SF laying around as well. If people are putting 50 & 55 size engines in these planes why not kick it up a notch to a 60 size?

Shoehorning a bigger engine in there isn't the problem. Getting enough lead in the tail to balance out is where the bigger motors loose.
That .46FX is perfect! especially if you have some kind of pipe like a Jett, Macs, Nelson, or even the Tower muffler will help it out a bit.

Seems contrary to the ones I've seen in my club Kmot where they are very quiet. ::shrugging::

i am sorry for askin too much about this plane, but i am not really sure about wwhat to buy.
what i have for sure i that i want something faster than a tower hobbies kaos, but something that has the same aerobatic capabilities of the kaos.
do you think that the f 20 can be the right plane. i dont want something that can just pass at high speeds, i want something that can be used to do some aerobatics.
tahnks for the help.

Not much of an aerobat. It will do basic rolls and loops but slow speed manuvers result in a bad tip stall and in my case usually a crash. Of the three F-20s I have crashed, note not flown or owned, the crashes were due to low speed errors on my part.
If you want speed and aerobatics you should be looking for a ballistic pattern ship. The Ultra Sport comes to mind as an available ARF, I'm sure there are many others. However this takes you further from you .55AX IMO.

I would love to read through 20 plus pages but i just dont have that kinda time. Anyway have about 10 flights on mine with a baffleless 46ax love it so far. What prop would be recomended for a bit more speed? Im curently running a MA 10x7 was thinking of going to a 10x8 or 9x8 what are your thoughts?

You might try an APC 10x7 Sport prop. I've read they appear to have a little more pitch than a Master Airscrew prop of the same size. Or, perhaps it's because they're more rigid and hold their pitch better. I'd try a 10x8 MA S-2 next and if that isn't too much prop, an APC 10x8. If you're not already turning too many revs, you might see what a 9x8 will do. An 8" pitch prop isn't going to accelerate as quickly as a 7. A 9x8 prop will probably hurt both the acceleration and climb performance. However, it'll scream coming out of a dive into a high-speed low pass. You won't know which one you prefer until you try them all...

THanks for the reply I do understand that i will sacrifice climb performance for speed I dont mind just looking for a bit more top end

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZIcEwrlNhTs

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3BclaudNB3U

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kNwGnC-tnVA

I want you guys to reveiw it

I tried the Ax 55 Os engine, it was so good and fast with 20% fuel and 11x6 prop
after that it crashed due to failer in the plug

I purchased the wing set and the fuseldge with a new Engine which is SuperTiger 51

I also added to it a new Macs tuned pipe as well as 12x8 prop with 10% fuel

I will try it next weekend

any tips from you will help

thanks
