tower .46 and speed
I had a sonic 500 with a tower hobbies .46 running a 11x6 prop and was getting probably 80-90mph. I know this isnt the fastest set up in the world but I had lots of fun with it for its three flight life span, so much fun that I think I need another "fast" plane. I was thinking about an AJ-2 or a zoomer and was wondering if anyone could give me a guess on what kind of speeds I could get with the tower .46 and an appropriate prop.

Would you please not show any pics of the Zoomer on the web for a while! Thats my secret weapon in process for next years club race schedule. Its not a Q-500, or a formula, therefore must be legal by default! Gotta have a backup in case my big block jett thing does not work out as planed! Would be much appreciated, there are spys everywhere!

Please don't get this guys hopes up with a Tower 46. Most of our club guys who bought one now use them as fishing weights. There is one in town that does scoot, owned by a german machinest who milled out the tower case to accept a Jett 50 crank, piston and sleeve. Tried to tell us it was a "stocker" Bro #119
Stupidity has a price that is always paid!

Hi!
11x6 prop on a Sonic 500 and .46 engine..?!!
Must be kidding!
9x6, 9x7 or 9x8 APC is what you should use.
Here is mine powered by a MVVS 6,5cc engine running a 10x6 Graupner cam-prop and 80/20 fuel (that's what the rules in Q-500 say over here). Speed with this set up is around 170-180km/h (110mph).
Regards!

Its Tower hobbies fault, they make it cheaper to buy props in packs of six . My flight box was full of the 11x6 props I use on my aerobatic plane so I just tossed one on. Turns out an 11x5 works better on my aerobatic plane so now I have a ton of unwanted 11x6 props.
