DAGO RED/ BURNER OR BUST?
Today, a friend having recent hard times brought me a WM Dago Red, complete with new OS 70, servos HD retracts with servo as reimbursement for a old debt, a little overpayment I thought. Anyway, its now hanging from the ceiling. Could be a fun club racer, but not with the OS thumper. Whats available is a YS 110, Webra 90 & 120. The Sacramento, Ca. area guys I understand have a wild warbird class using hopped up YS 110's and 40-50% fuel. The only warbird thing I have seen lately that has any speed is a Strega with Irving Piped 53. Would appreciate any imput as to trying to make a scooter out of this thing, motor/prop recommendtions, or sell it to someone who gets off on making low loud passes playing at beilng a real pilot. Just not my thing. Bro #119

RE: DAGO RED/ BURNER OR BUST?
I have one with a Magnum 91 4 stroke on it, 12x10 prop and 30% fuel. Won the silver class at Speedworld in '04. If you want to fly the gold class you'll need the YS or something similar, 2 strokes are allowed also.
I have not had any problems with my firewall but will make a point to check it now.

rmenke
the wm dago red was my first plane 6 years ago. I had a os61 fx in it using a 10x8 or 11x7 prop. I wouldnt put much more in that airframe. The end result for that plane after a couple hundred flights, and the wings where problably fuel logged was the wing snapped in two after a high speed pass when i pulled up. It was fast for what it was.
