WHen i get the retracts back in i will post pictures,but it will be a while as I am now in the prossess of glassing and painting the whole plane.I have yet to fly this plane and winter has finally arrived here in delaware.

because this plane has 1 servo for each rudder connected into a y harness, what do you do with the nose wheel servo? thanks russ

Use a Y harness into the receiver for the nose wheel in the rudder servo slot,
then another Y for the two rudder servos.

....be sure to use a big battery....12-1400 ma for all those servos and extentions.

A 12 inch prop is about as big as I could go on mine.

i installed a jett si60lx on mine. but i have run into a problem. i forgot to install the elevator servo before installing the rudder stabs or what ever they are called. i did install a servo on the lower back part of the plane and ran my elevator wire through the fuse. now it seems the prop is going to be in the way of thelingage. any thoughts on this mrss would be appreciated. russ

Is it possible that people are talking about 2 different planes? There is the Nitro models plane that has fixed gear and fits a 61 motor on it. There is also a Richmodels-usa KeeCat that is a little bigger with retracts and will fit a 91 motor. I have the Nito version but I am seriously thinking about getting the other one to be able to have retracts and a larger motor.

I dont Know how fast with the 90,I have not flown yet.As fast as possible is what i am looking for!!!!!
My plane is a nitro bobcat 50,not the keecat.The extra weight with the 90, and the retracts,and now fiberglass and paint is going to put me close to 9 lbs .I also split the ailerons into flaps and ailerons so i have two extra servos.The extra weight is bound to slow me up a bit.

Search his thread and the one in Jets, many folks have installed the elevator servo in the horizontal stab. I would do that and fish and an extension through one of the booms and cut a small hole at the edge of the horizontal stab/boom where the horizontal stab goes through it, heck if you are patient you might even be able to do it without cutting a visible hole. If you can make a small hook and catch a piece of string or monofilament and then tie the wires to it you could pull the whole mess through the horizontal stab down throught vertical and out through the bottom of the boom, then through the wing into the cockpit and whalla!

This is a great thread guys. The Bobcat has just been launched in the UK and I want one. But I am keen to fit a set of air retracts and want to see how you guys have done it. Also any build tips gratefully received.

Why bother with the trouble of adding retracts when you can just buy the keecat, which already comes with retracts.

On the bobcat, with any of the .46-.50-.60L engines, use an APC 10x6P

Personally, no.. but those sizes are hard to come by in a pusher configuration.

The APC 10x6p and 10x7P are commonly available, and work well on the 50 size Bobcat. With wheels down and the drag and stuff, the larger diameter is the way you want to go anyway.

The Jett 60LX turns the crud outta that 10x6P

Nope. I do not own a Bobcat myself - but in other pusher setups I just run the regular rotation. Reverse rotation cranks are pretty limited in supply - long lead time at the moment.

Works out ok, since the Jett SJ-50 and 60L love the 10x6P - 17K rpm easy with the .50
