Speed Freaks Wanted
Do slightly larger planes count ?
How about a 32 hp 289cc methanol fueled 87 inch Miss Ashley turning a 23x27 prop over 9000 rpm..
Consistently radared at 220+ mph at our races...
Unfortunately lost on takeoff at the race in Kansas R I P ....

The plane won the last 2 unlimited championships at the USRA races, flown by Kenny McSpadden, owned by Rick Schramek, current Reno WORLD record holder with his full size supercharged Lancair Legacy, last year, 345 mph...Fast enough ???
Nest race is at Parker, Arizona, October 25-25..Y'all come on down and see some REAL speed

What are the dates for the event, and is there a link or
something that has directions....and perhaps a map
to the exact location of the event ? I will be there this
year to enjoy the races, as well as the Reno air races.

Brothers....
....here is my new semi-speed entry....an Arresti with an OS
.60 FSR.....turns an 11-8 at 14K. My Buds said it looked
faster than my .40 sized F-20 with the Rossi....[8D]
I put a long tapered spinner on it, and the turbo muffler. It
goes straight up like it was shot out of a cannon....
....
goes about a buck and a quarter straight and level.
Rev on my Brothers.

Very nice looking plane Dave. I cant wait to see it out on the lake bed. Were are planning the El Mirage II sometime in late October, and looking forward to seeing you make that plane scream. I will be posting real soon on the exact date.

Dave....be sure to check out the tail feathers of your Aresti before you really crank up that 60!! I had cracked the stick-built part of the stab during a 3/4 throttle split-S dive with a Saito 72, due to flutter. It's very weak. In fact there are several threads on this problem in the ARF forum and in this one. I think it was 'Razor' who posted a picture of his with a break identical to mine!!
I went back and added cross braces in the open area, and a piece of carbon fibre along the trailing edge strip
Speed on....but watch out!!!!

I was thinking of a plane with a motor with a folding prop, short wings, shaped like a needle,a remoate ignition,and a series of estes E9 rocket motors attached. ha ha lets see if an rc can break the sound barier and if that is legal. I guess i will have to test my toy at the salt flats.

Been there, Done that, Got in trouble! But I am still working on a new one. I have flown an SR-71 with a G Econojet, it was OK but I am working on something a little better. Also midway through a build of a pulse-jet engine. Does it matter what I want to put it in? You know it will be fast
