Default Blue Angels: Anyone have a propjet in these colors?

Just wondering if anyone has a Patriot, F-20, Kougar, etc with the Blue Angels color scheme?

Default huh?

I have seen a couple- There is a guy on here with a G&P FA-18 propjet with that scheme-

Try a search and you may find it-

It also strikes me that I saw a GP F-4 Phantom II propjet with those markings also-

Why do youask?

Default Patriot

I'm building a patriot.
I don't like the all white theme with the thunderbirds.
I thought of modifying it with red main wings, white bottom with the bird figure. I'm also thinking of white fuse, all red wings...

I was looking at the Blue Angel scheme on the old A-4F, F-4, or F-11 former Blue Angel jets. I'm beginning to think that will be a very nice, not oft seen scheem for the Patriot...whaddya think?

Look at the gallery at www.wingsofgold.org

Default Little Blue Angel

This is my first prop jet. I designed this to fly on the Cox .010. All up weight is 4.2 oz's The little engine turns a 3" prop at about 30grand. It only flies at about 50 MPH, but when you combine that with the fact that it has a 14" span, it really looks/feels like it its mooooving!!!

I have yet to finish the Blue Angels Lettering, but here is the scheme so far.

Default Wow!

Wow! That little angel is something!
You can get stick-on letter graphics done to match the gold in your plane at any graphics shop, probably for less than $10...Just take a picture of the Real Blue Angels in with you...

I have a 1/2A Skhoi...those little things are a hand full to land, but are lotsa fun!

Well it isn't a prop plane , but here's a pic of my Blue Angles F-4. It was a Yellow Aircraft kit, and the colors and paint scheme were authentic. Note there is a bit of silver on the wings, tail and inlets

You can also see the Blue Angels page

Default Colors....

I used standard Monokote blue and yellow. Chrome trim is stick on stuff (does not need and iron, but the iron will smooth it and make it stick better). Canopy is Monokote Powder Blue.

Still working on markings. Was not satisfied with the color match from the signmaker, so I am just going to hand cut them.

Default Colors for Blue Angles paint job

I can't believe I acually kept the color data from 1988, but here it is:
I used DuPont Automotive Laquer, and clearcoated after, for fuelproofing. Remember the clearcoat is a catalyzed paint and is dangerous for your lungs, and you need the apprpriate respirator.

I got these colors from Bill harris, who is a jet and serious scale builder, and they are supposed to be accurate.

Blue.. # 7419 L ... also supposed to be Mack Truck color

Yellow.... # 4320 LH

I had a third color on my paint receipt, it is probably the silver

# 380-s

I hope this helps.

Default Blue Angels: Anyone have a propjet in these colors?

I am building a Altech F22 that I just picked up and am going to do it in Blue Angels. I am going to use Insignia Blue Monokote and Yellow Monokote or trim sheet. I looked at the Blue Angel wings of gold site listed above and there is a great picture in the F4 gallery that shows a top and bottom view at the same time.

Default F-18 in Blue Angels...

How about a Direct Connection F-18 Hornet?

Enya .80x turning a 12x8 APC prop. Flies awesome.

Here's some pics of my Patriot I built a couple of years ago. The covering is Monokote Insignia Blue & Cub Yellow, the lettering I hand cut, the Blue Angels insignia I printed on decal paper.
YS45 with Macs tuned pipe turning APC 9x9 prop, Robart mech retracts, flaps. I forget the exact weight but I think she came in just a little over 7 lbs, she's rock solid in flight & covers a lot of ground fast.
