hummingbird , wow you works very fast [X(] , excelent

And maybe your patriot will fly more fast than mine , if your incidences are perfect (that I do not doubt it ) have to help for high speed , between other things of course , once in the air we will see , you will use tuned pipe or stock muffler ???

I will use the stock muffler,, i have read somewhere here on RCU- that using a tuned pipe on this engine would not be that much of difference,, so to save weight stock muffler will be fine ,

A guy in the field has a jett .50 tuned pipe 10x6 apc and he say turns at 19,500 rpm , and that was gaining 2,000 rpm compared with stock muffler , I dont know if that is true or no , but anyway I want to tell you that data . Any tips for more speed sound good

Maybe if bob27s see that number can tell us if is possible or no

Anything is possible.... depends on the prop, fuel, etc.

a standard SJ-50 engine with the stock (jett-stream) muffler turns a 10x6 around 17,500
with a full size pipe..... maybe pushing 18,000 - but the difference is more a few hundred rpm, not typically a couple of thousand.

Yeah, gaining 2000 rpm is possible on a shorter full-size pipe, but you would have to trade down on prop size to get there.

I have been thinking hard on the colour scheme but im not too sure,, i wouldn't mind trying the red & white Edwards test colours that's used on the F-16's,, but i also like the F-5 swiss scheme too,..

Looks great.....

word of caution of sorts..... bolt the muffler on.... and make sure it clears the fwd fuselage. You may have to re-contour the bottom radius area to ensure it clears properly. Much easier to do before you apply covering

Thanks bob , i'll try that ,,,yes it's close, i may try some aluminum foil in that area to prevent the covering from melting, i did that on a wing i built once and it worked good, but it looks like i have about 1/4 inch clearance or mabey a little more on this one,[sm=thumbs_up.gif]

SpeedBoy,, i don't have a small enough spinner for the plane at this time,, i will get one ( red ), yes the label on the prop[X(] almost forgot, i just put it on, right before i took the picture,.--->maiden may be either Thursday or sometime after ,,, looks like rain is coming this way [],, Thursday looks like the only day without rain.))))--> I suppose it might help if i put the muffler on too.
