Default WAVEosSCOPE

So I keep looking at this software and getting more confused. So I broke down and made (hacked) an English version of it. I wonder why there never was one? Seems to work just fine and I can read speeds (still in KPH).

But how do I tell engine RPM? Can it actually be done with this program?

Here are the Doppler equations.
To get the RPM in the air, we have
f = 2 / (1 / Fgoing + 1 / Fcoming)
and
RPM = f * 60

To get Fgoing left click on one of the lines on top and then right click the line 5 lines over also at the top. Get the difference in frequency shown at the bottom and divide by five. Do the same thing at the bottom (same lines used for top measurement) to get Fcoming. you could use just one line apart but 5 when divided by 5 is more accurate.

There was some discussion in this thread about it.

My picture is an example to get Fgoing. 3058 - 862 divided by five is what you want. My recordings are just before and just after the camera pass, maybe 3 seconds, to get clean lines.

I posted this in another thread and thought it may take some of the work out of it for you.

http://www.mikesrc.us/rpm.xls
you will still have to get the Fgoing and Fcomong #'s
You may have to right click and save to your pc to use it.
