This is the first time I heard that the West was all West internally. It's interesting to think that they saw a way to make money off an already popular engine and even doing so with Webra saying, ''OK, here you go, we'll sell you a bunch of cases''
I guess the tooling cost alot. Maybe crancases are modified too?

I'm not sure if the 1'' cut applies to the 52v1? But it could do.
in the instructions of 52V1 is written 1'' ... Alan also told me 1 ''

I read that you use the 9x7 in 50V1 ... How many rpm in static ?

do you have cut manifold ?

Marco

I cant remember rpm on 9x7, Im sure about 18-19.

No, not cut manifold but that doesn't mean you shouldn't as yours may be different length.

I am now running 8x8 without shorter cut manifold.
Its on the pipe.
However I too should fine tune it but have been playing with props, like 8x10,10x6,9x7.

So, I guess it can sound on the pipe but a tacho and not ear can fine tune the rpm on manifold length.

Im sure over 20k with 8x8.

Fuel was prosynth 10% nitro but switched to higher %oil, Again fully synthetic, nice clean engine.
The oil is edl and sical additive by Model technics called pro power

The 9x7 is an excellent starter prop, Very good launches, good all round prop until moving to another

I know the .50 will turn a 9-6 at about 20k. Mine did that with the header trimmed 5/8''.

in addition you also had the open pipe ... is right ?

I used both pipes.

On my Magnum I used the Weston pipe with the header trimmed 5/8". This is where the 9-6 tachometer number is from.

On the Demon delta I used an open pipe. On that I used an assortment of clipped pylon props. The header has been trimmed to a total of maybe 1" or a hair more.

cool !

I've seen that uses 10% syn/cas

is the nitro 10% ?

is the syn high density ?

Cheers, that video was early magnum days! Loads of fun.! I had over 100 flights on that one until destroyed. My current Magnum has over 210 flights. I'm aiming for 500.

How soon before you maiden yours?

Regular 10% nitro syn/cas blended oil sport fuel. Wildcat or Omega. I think the synthetic oil in those is classified as high viscosity.

omega is a good fuel for higt rpm... but i would not use the Wildcat ... it has too much castor and all that castor is not necessary for the engine that run under 25000 rpm ...

Marco.
