Which engine for Extreme Flight Outlaw?
Hello!
I'm thinking about getting myself an Extreme Flight Outlaw, so I want to order a engine.
I was thinking about either the Evolution .36NT, Thunder Tiger pro .36 OR the SC/Magnum .36.
I want to keep it under 100$ so O.S 35AX is too expensive in my opinion.
So what do you think?
I would also want a cheap as possible tuned pipe or something for this, suggestions?(Important that they can ship to Norway).
Thank you!

RE: Which engine for Extreme Flight Outlaw?
Thank you for your answer.
But I will probably order the Evolution .36 from Advantage hobby, or the Thunder Tiger .36 from Tower Hobbies, or the SC/Magnum .36 from Norway/elefun.no
That would be cheapest.
Just gotta know which one to choose!
But I'll def bookmark that store.
But on the tuned pipe though, I have no idea where to order from.

I'd go for the Thunder Tiger. Hard to beat for value... If you're trying to save $$$, make a mousse can muffler yourself. I think you can do a search here to find out how to make one. The guys that make them rave about the results. Ross

Put A Webra 36 on it. Here is a link I found:
Jerry Smith is the creator of the Extreme Flight Outlaw. The Webra 36 is the exact same size as the .32 except with a lot more power.

Go with the EVO 36.
This is why, it has a needle valve you can mount parallel with the wing. As you know know the engine is mounted on its side with the exhaust port up. If you go with the tunder tiger the needle valve is going to be on the bottom of the plane. I have an outlaw that little skid doesn't work when landing on grass

RE: Which engine for Extreme Flight Outlaw?
Here is a Mousse can. The same one fits 25-36 any of these engines you mentioned. In the picture the can is "tuned" for a 25. The full header pipe is inside the mousse can but for a 32-36 you slide the can as far back on the header as practical. I run these with an APC 8X8 or 9X7.

Do a search for Kentucky Mousse cans. These are from Flying Z Hobbies in Sebree Kentucky. If you can locate the mousse can locally, the headers are from Macs Products http://www.macspro.com/headers_side.asp
I would choose the Evo because it has a remote needle that you can mount on the firewall instead on having it pointed down. As mentioned in this thread the engine mounts on it's side with the muffler up and this puts the needle on the bottom.

RE: Which engine for Extreme Flight Outlaw?
Ok guys.
Thanks for the tips.
Im really wondering about the Evo .36 now. It is just that I found the TT .36 for 68$ +shipping and I won't have to pay the extra 25% in taxes.
And the Evo is 99$+shipping+25% taxes. (Advantage hobby).
But as you say, it will give me less trouble. Can't decide [:@]
EDIT: And guess what, I found the Evo for an acceptable price. Thank you.
And right before, I ordered the TT .36. Stupid me that cant be patient. But i'll get that order cancelled though

RE: Which engine for Extreme Flight Outlaw?
Keep your eye on ebay for a NIB OS .32SX. It should be a good fit for that airframe, and you can get them for a very reasonable price now. They were one of the best engines OS ever made, have great performance on the stock muffler, respond well to a tuned pipe, and are quite user friendly.
I won four of them a few weeks back NIB for about $75 each.

RE: Which engine for Extreme Flight Outlaw?
Got a Evo .36NT on it's way now
Thank you for all of your tips! Will look up the tuned pipe ideas.
Now, what prop should I use for this engine after break-in to get it as fast as possible without killing the engine?
