Heres the before and after, no real explanation of what happen it rolled inverted and went into an uncontrollable dive now what to put the 90L in.

You know what? Why don't you go to that "Bridi" webpage at www.bridiairplanes.com and get yourself a classic and throw that 90 up front. When those planes were around, the Jett 90 wasn't. Be a very sweet combo with retracts in a Dirty Birdi.

Mount that 90 sideways and do it![X(]

I saw the title for the thread and crap!

Let it roll off your back and use it as an excuse to get another ship- the Cermark F-16 would be sweet with the 90L :D

I actually have thought about building a classic pattern ship but that will have to wait until winter, summer is too short up here to waste in the shop. Other than the loss of the airframe everything else appears to be fine the ground was soft so the jett looks too have survived just fine and all the radio gear being in the back came through OK also.

Chuck,

You may want to replace the prop stud on your 90. just in case there is a slight bend you can't see.

Also check your Rx and Xtal, Use an engraving tool, put the tip on the case to vibrate it and see if you get any glitches.

boy that sucks. I hate when you cant quite figure out what happened either!

As for a replacement - assuming quick and somewhat easy.... and relatively affordable..

The Cermark F-16 obviously - always a good choice.

It appears that the Vmar F-4 and Mig-21 seem to be reasonably well built - and fly well.

No doubt the retracts, radio and engine would fit well in any of the above.

The Cermark Alley Cat would be fun too. Just need to add the muffler extention kit.

Dan over a Carolina Custom Aircraft has lots of great classic pattern kits. I highly recommend the Brushfire :) But as you noted, its a bit of a winter project.

Well, "I FEEL YOUR PAIN.":D. But sometimes a better setup can come of it. I stuffed this F20 on its maiden flight due to flutter on the elevator. After trimming it, I went way out their and throttled it up and there I was, balls to the walls at a 45 degree angle and never came out of it.

I took the engine out and what was left and found and old ultra sport a guy did not want and rebuilt it and recovered it and has been one sweet combo for a couple years now

I decided to put the engine in a little toni for now maybe not the fastest choice but I like the plane and I have enough other go fast planes to keep me happy for now. I cleaned out the engine real good and oiled it everything looks and feels real good I was thinking it may be a good idea to send it to Dub and have new bearings put in it and see if he thinks it needs anything else what do you think Bob.

That would be your call - chances are there is nothing wrong. Just replace the prop stud.

If you send it back to Dub for a look-over, since it will now go in a Toni, he can set it up with the Toni extension kit.

The Jetts can take a beating. After I stuffed that F-20, I just took it apart and cleaned it up. I did have to send the muffler back for a repair. However several months later when I had my .90 on that red Ultra Sport. I had another incident. The plane had been running fine for a couple months.

One day, I was out their and going down the back stretch full speed when it just quit. I was in good position and just deadsticked right on in. After looking it over, it did not quit. The spinner and prop came off and since the plane was so far out , I did not hear the over speed of a kazillion rpms which broke the connecting rod.

Jett sent me a new rod and again, I checked it for scorching and just cleaned the inside with a buffer and checked the bearings, lubed them up and been fine ever since.

sounds good guys I usually do just clean up my cheap engines after a crash, I just didn't want to trash a jett I can't feel any signs or visually see any damage it looks like a new engine I'll just change the stud and let it rip.
