Hello all,
Im looking for some opinions on a good electric 3D plane. I just wiped out my 40 size glow trainer into a lake(Thank god I put floats on it) and was wanting to try my hand at 3D. But anyway, I always loved watching guys fly their 3d plane and I even played around with some mild aerobatics with my trainer. I have a very good grasp on flying but dont know a thing about electric planes. Ive done some reading and looking but really havent found what im looking for. Any input to this will be greatly appreiciated. Thanks

You may want to check out some of the foamies...... IMHO they are probably the best 3D trainers you can get..... After all, if you stick one in the ground, you are out a few bucks for the foam airframe...the electronics and motors usually survive even the worst crashes.
Check out the H&H 300 at www.his-hershobbies.com .....they will even build them and ship as an ARF.....
These things will even take the wind, we fly them in some winds that simply amaze anyone around that just can't believe that we will fly them. Which actually makes it nice that you don't have to wait for a perfectly calm day to go fly it..... The hovers simply turn more into harriers, I like to do rolls at a stand still with mine.... nose it into the wind, cut the power until it is in a perfectly still harrier and then roll it upside down and the on over again..... backwards flight is always fun...... ASCENDING flat spins.....
yes ASCENDING.
I got the entire package.... brushless setup (Himax 2015-4100 and Castle Creations PH-10 (GWS or Maxx Products) gearbox, servos, receiver w/crystal, servo extensions, plane, carbon fiber, velcro, 12X6 prop, hardware, and E-TEC 10C 3S1P 11.1v 1200mah HP Pack w/Deans Ultra Connectors, Assembled to an ARF level goes for right around $275.........
Safe Flying!!!

Claims to be a "Perfect 3D trainer for beginning aerobatic pilots"
If you look in the [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/3D_Electric_Flying%21/forumid_237/tt.htm]3D Electric Forum[/link] you will find 2 or 3 threads about it.

(sorry to hijack the thread, didn't want to start a new topic
)
Alright, well.. I fly gas, semi-well...
But, my 3D and aerobatics can use a little help...
So, instead of smashing a balsa plane (the Extra in my sig) I'd much rather smash a nice EPP foam plane
I'm thinking about getting a PIGI 3D and my LHS...
I saw many people talking about the PIGI that they own, and that it performs good...
But I haven't seen any setups that people have, or what it costs...
I was just wondering if the PIGI would be a good plane to start out 3D practice on, and what setup works good with it. (since there's no reviews or setups on the RCU review page)
Thanks
